An award winning music presenter since the late ‘80’s, John Kelly is a recognised authority on music across multiple genres


Music Consultancy

John's interests span all genres – from punk to classical with a particular interest in American music, from early blues through country and soul, to jazz and hip-hop. He has won a SONY Award in London and a PPI Award in Dublin and has been publicly praised by musicians like U2 and Elvis Costello.

Although best known as a music writer and broadcaster, John also works as a music consultant and curator, sound designer, and DJ. His work as a music consultant spans film and advertising, with credits including the Neil Jordan film 'The Good Thief' and the Hummingbird documentary 'Freedom Highway' as well as music design for venues, including The Odeon and Aya.


Songwriter

John co-wrote six songs with Paul Brady for 2005's 'Say What You Feel', including 'Locked Up In Heaven' (below) and was recently invited to play harmonica on Blame, from the Gavin Friday album ‘Catholic’.
